Hydrangea 'Little Honey', also known as Hydrangea quercifolia 'Little
Honey', was discovered at Briggs Nursery in 1999, this branch sport
of Hydrangea 'Pee Wee' was then cultivated by Briggs Nursery in Olympia,
Washington.
'Little Honey' was patented though breeders agent PlantHaven, Inc. and
has been granted a US Plant Patent, PP# 15,477.
PlantHaven and Briggs have collaborated together to speed 'Little Honey'
to numerous trial sites around the country for evaluation and testing.
The results thus far are very promising!
'Little Honey' has caused quite a stir within the nursery industry, even
appearing on the cover of Pacific Coast Nurseryman. Though you
may not be able to find 'Little Honey' in your local garden centers quite
yet, industry can purchase plugs and liners and with a license start building
up stock.
